This year on June 6, McLean Mortgage Corporation was proud to be a sponsor of the 2016 Navy Memorial Golf Tournament. McLean has supported the efforts of the Navy War Memorial for the past four years by sponsoring and playing in the golf tournament, an annual event designed to raise money for Navy Sailors and their families in need. The Navy War Memorial was envisioned in the early days of America's national independence, by architect Pierre L'Enfant "to celebrate the first rise of the Navy and consecrate its progress and achievements." The Memorial was dedicated in October of 1987, on the 212th birthday of the United States Navy.
This year the event was held at the Army-Navy Country Club and McLean Mortgage’s representatives, Pat Peavley James Nader, Sean Fritts and Tom Leshko came in second place in the tournament with a team score of 13 under par. Captain Tom Leshko, (US Navy Retired) who has spearheaded this sponsorship for McLean for the past four years, enrolled in the naval aviation officer candidate program in September of 1958. During his storied naval career, he accumulated over 7,000 hours of flight time to over 34 countries and 16 Islands.
“We looking forward to continue to support the efforts of the Navy War Memorial in this worthy cause,” commented Tom Leshko, “Next year we are aiming to help the even raise even more money and coming in first place in the tournament.”
